Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Miza Golf has no server, no account system, no analytics and no ads. We collect nothing — we have no way to receive your data even if we wanted to. Your location is read on your phone, used on your phone, and stays on your phone. The only network requests the app ever makes are to Google, for map imagery and fonts, and those are described precisely below.

2. Information we collect: none

The app never asks for your name, email address, phone number or any other identifying information, and never creates an account or identifier for you on any system we operate — because no such system exists. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs and no crash-reporting services.

3. Data stored on your device

Your round history, shot log, tee setups, bag and preferences are saved in local app storage on your phone only. They are never transmitted to us — we operate no server and receive nothing. If you export a backup, the file is created on your phone and shared through your phone's own share sheet to a destination you choose (your email, your cloud drive, and so on). We never receive a copy, and whatever service you send it to is governed by that service's own privacy policy.

4. Location: read locally, used locally, never uploaded

While you're actively using the app, it reads your position from your phone's operating system to:

• measure the distance of each shot you log,
• show front/back-of-green distances, and
• place you on the hole map and move to the next hole as you walk.

All of those calculations happen on the device. The app never uploads your GPS coordinates anywhere — not to us (we have no server) and not to Google Cloud or any other cloud. Location is not read in the background: when the app is closed or backgrounded, the location stream stops.

One technical note for completeness: the position itself is supplied by your phone's operating system (on Android, typically Google Play services' fused location provider). How your OS determines location is controlled by your device settings and your OS vendor's privacy policy, not by this app — the app only reads the result.

5. What Google receives, exactly

The app makes network requests only to Google, in two narrow cases:

• Map imagery (only when you open a map). The satellite hole view loads imagery through the Google Maps SDK for Android. Like any map, it must request the imagery tiles for the area shown on screen — so Google's servers receive your IP address, the app's identity, and the map area being viewed (in practice, the hole you have open). Your GPS coordinates are not uploaded by the app: the blue "you are here" dot is drawn on the device. If you never open the satellite map, no map requests are made at all.
• Fonts (first launch). The app downloads its two typefaces from Google Fonts the first time it runs, then caches them. This is a standard file download — it involves your IP address and no location or personal data.

Both services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. These are the only third-party services embedded in the app, and the app makes no other network requests of any kind.

6. Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children — it doesn't collect personal information from any user, of any age.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your phone's settings — the app keeps working as a simple shot counter, without distances or maps.
• You can avoid all map-related requests by simply not opening the satellite map.
• You can delete all app data at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for us to delete on our side — deletion on your device is complete deletion.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top of the page. Because the app collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare and editorial.
